Anemometer traverse — IS 374 method

Test plane 1.5 m below the blade plane. Readings on all four semi-diagonals, first point 40 mm from the fan axis, then every 80 mm outward. Each reading is the mean velocity of an 80 mm wide annulus.

Before you trust the number: Chamber 6.5 × 6.5 m with 4 m clear height · Top opening 1.1–1.2 × blade sweep · Vane anemometer ≤ 100 mm bore, freshly calibrated · Two minutes for the fan to stabilise · Rated voltage held throughout · Readings averaged over a 16 second pulse. Anything less is a shop-floor comparison, not a declarable figure.
